The 2023 Howard Vineyard 400 Metre Range Rose
Fresh strawberry, raspberry and white cherry. Savoury notes of clove and spice are beautifully balanced on the palate. Soft pinky/ onion skinned blush, with aromas of fresh strawberries, ripe raspberries and blueberries with savoury notes of clove and spice.
Rose: While it’s produced similarly to other red wines, the time it ferments with grape skins is cut shorter. This reduced skin contact is what gives rose its signature pink color. Rose is also synonymous with great weather and good times – there’s nothing like a glass of rose to complement get-togethers in the sunshine. But with its rising quality and increasingly versatile styles, rose offers more than an aesthetic and a cheery summer wine.
Viticulture: Clover Farm, Mt Barker. Elevation and Aspect, 360 to 390 metres above sea level with gentle slopes (5 – 8%) generally facing towards the northwest.
Winemaking : Picked at night to ensure minimum colour pick up. Lightly pressed with only 6 hours skin contact. Varieties are fermented cold and separately. Hyper oxidation adds volume to the palate.
