2023 Howard Vineyard Amos Pinot Noir
Fresh red strawberries, cherries and black fruits, layered with a touch of earthy spice from some whole bunch fermentation. Juicy cooked rhubarb and green strawberries with a soft and supple palate. There is a hint of spice and fresh herbs , mouthwatering natural acidity and fine tannins results in a textural and long flavour, with just a touch of fine French oak.
PINOT NOIR: The worlds most popular light-bodied red, Pinot Noir is traditionally well suited to cool climate wine regions, making Pinot Noir and the Adelaide Hills the perfect match. When enjoyed young, Pinot Noir tends to show characters of red fruits, cherries and cooked rhubarb.
Viticulture: Beautiful Valley Vineyard, Charleston. Elevation and Aspect: 450-500 AMSL with gentle slopes (5-12%) generally facing the east.
Winemaking: Grapes are handpicked and all 5 clones were kept separate. 25% whole bunches were used. The remaining fruit was de-stemmed and chilled with minimal crushing into small open top fermenters. Only the best barrels are then selected for our Amos wines. The wine was then bottled with minimal clarification and So2.
Match the 2023 Howard Vineyard Amos Pinot Noir with Tea-smoked duck breast.
