Saddle up for a rip-roaring winter weekend at Howard Vineyard, as our much-loved Winter Reds event returns for its third year – with a bold country twist.

Join us Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th July (10am–5pm) in the heart of the Adelaide Hills for a full day of premium red wine, hearty winter fare, and boot-stompin’ good times. From the high-energy Boot Scootin’ Marquee – complete with live country band and dancefloor – to the laid-back Saddle Club, acoustic tunes and DJs in Vineyard Paddock Lane, and the cosy Barn Terrace, there’s a spot for every kind of festival-goer.

Expect crackling firepits, rich Shiraz in hand, flavour-packed country inspired bites from our kitchen, and handcrafted cocktails to keep spirits high. Come Sunday, round up the whole crew with family-friendly fun, including a Kids Corner, hosted activities, and face painting for the little cowboys and cowgirls.

Pull on your boots, grab your mates, and settle in for a day of country charm, good wine, and a whole lot of yee-haw.

What is new this year?

Country vibe is alive – Yee-Haw!

A refresh on reserved ticket areas – so make sure you read what each ticket area provides you and where you’ll be seated.

A big country band in the main large “Country Boot Scootin’ marquee – with a big dance floor – not for the faint hearted. This space is going to be country, loud, proud and full of fun live music all day. A large reserved seating area and plenty of GA tables available in this space.

We’ve converted a smaller marquee the “Saddle Club Marquee” into a reserved ticketed area – perfect for socialising and catching up with mates – with a little less going on around you so you can chill out with your crew and soak up the event atmosphere going on all around you.

Our Vineyard Paddock Lane Marquee will also host LIVE acoustic and DJ music – country themed, with a dance floor for all our GA guests and right next to the Saddle Club Marquee providing great viewing and music entertainment.

Our heated and enclosed Terrace will be in full swing this year, being super close to the main bar indoors, it will provide the relaxed space to enjoy conversations whether you are here for the full day or enjoying one of the many bus loops and staying for a good time, not a long time.

Our charity partner for this years event is CanDo:4Kids! We welcome them back for their second year in a row. What to expect in each area?

 

Boot Scootin’ Marquee

Lace up your boots and get ready to two-step into a high-energy country experience, featuring all your favourite boot scootin’ classics from our live country band.

The Boot Scootin’ Marquee is where the festival comes alive – loud, fun, and built for dancing. With a dedicated dancefloor and live sets running from 12pm-5pm, this is the heart of the Shiraz Social action.

This marquee caters to VIP & Reserved Ticketholders, plus space for some general admission attendees wanting to be right in the middle of the music and atmosphere.

If you’re after a quiet corner to relax and chat during the Winter Reds Festival, this isn’t the space for you – this one is all about energy, movement, and good times.

Bring your best country spirit, your friends, and your festival mood.

Featuring a mix of white and clear roof panels, the marquee is bright and open, so sunglasses and hats are recommended on sunny days. Fully heated for comfort, it’s the ultimate spot to dance, drink, and soak up the live band atmosphere all day long.

Saddle Club Marquee – 18+ only ticketholders.

Slip out of the bustle and into your own relaxed country retreat at the Saddle Club Marquee – a calm, comfortable nook designed for slowing down and soaking up the festival at your own pace.

Perfectly positioned in the heart of the event, this marquee sits between the Boot Scootin’ Marquee and Vineyard Paddock Lane, keeping you close to all the action while offering a more easy-going atmosphere.

Fully enclosed and heated for all-day comfort, the space features a striped white and clear-panel roof, creating a bright, open feel. On sunny days, don’t forget your hat and sunglasses.

All tables in this area are reserved exclusively for Saddle Club ticket holders and is strictly 18+ only, ensuring a relaxed and comfortable setting throughout the day.

While there is no live music inside this marquee, you’re just moments away from the Acoustic and DJ stage, and only a short stroll to the Boot Scootin’ Marquee if you’re ready to join the energy.

It’s the ideal spot to catch up with friends, enjoy a slower pace, and stay close to all festival amenities – with the barn bar and kitchen just around the corner.

Easy going, warm, and a little bit country. Yee-haw.

Vineyard Paddock Lane – GA Marquee

Where country vibes run all day long – the Vineyard Paddock Lane Marquee is a General Admission space featuring live acoustic sets and DJ performances from open to close.

This is a first-in, best-dressed seating area with no reserved tables, offering a relaxed, social festival atmosphere right in the middle of the action.

Perfectly positioned beside the barn bar, kitchen, and amenities, it’s an easy place to settle in, take in the sights, sounds, and country air – porch-style.

Fully heated for comfort, the marquee features a mix of high bars, stools, and table seating, with a dedicated dancefloor for when the music picks up and the boots start moving.

From slow sips to “9 to wine” dancefloor moments, this is where the day flows with ease and country spirit.

The Barn Terrace

Sit a spell and hold your horses in The Barn Terrace – a relaxed, easy-going space designed for mingling, unwinding, and enjoying the day with classic country hits playing through the terrace speakers.

Perfectly positioned with easy access to the bar, kitchen, and amenities, this General Admission area is fully enclosed and heated for comfort from morning through to the final set.

On Sundays, the Barn Terrace transforms in part into Kids Corner — a family-friendly space filled with free activities, games, crafts, and face painting for little ones to enjoy, running from 11am–3pm.

A welcoming spot for all ages, where comfort, country charm, and good times come together.

What else will there be?

A main bar located inside our barn will be stocked with all of your Howard Vineyard favourites, plus beers, ciders and soft drinks.

Threefold Distilling Co are joining us again to pour fresh event cocktails, designed just for The Shiraz Social: Country Edit in mind.

SUNDAY – A Family Fun Day! We will have the wonderful team from Calm Play 4 Kids set up on the terrace with awesome fun activities to keep the kids occupied while you enjoy the day! These are free activities in our Kid Zone and really enjoyed by the little ones. KIDS ZONE Sunday Only – 11am-3pm.

There will also be FREE Face Painting for the kids on Sunday 11am-2pm.

Our Korean kitchen team, with head chef Cookie always delivers the most flavoursome winter festival menu with an added bit of country flare for our event kitchen. Our menu will be posted on our what’s on page. We cater for all dietary requirements.

Firepits will be scattered across our lawns and laneways, along with umbrellas, plus plenty of tables and chairs to cater for all ticket holders. If the weather is nice, there will be plenty of lush areas to be able to zone out and enjoy that winter suns warmth.

Outdoor bathroom facilities will be easily accessible across the venue, with luxury bathrooms, portaloo’s and our main venue bathrooms.

This is an accessible friendly event. We provide access parking, an access drop-off zone, and easy access to our accessible bathroom. For any guests who might require some access support, simply make contact with our event coordinator to arrange.

UBER is in the area! We still recommend you pre-book your ride share service. However UBER have advised they will be supporting the Adelaide Hills Wine Region Festival all weekend.

Our event supports many of the local suppliers: Beers by Pirate Life & Mismatch, Ciders by Lobo Cider, and local coffee roaster.

Get cosy around our wood fires, enjoy our range of wines, beers + cocktails. Indulge in our delicious casual festival food whilst enjoying the live Band, DJ music or Acoustic tunes. Barn Bar & Kitchen will keep everyone hyrdrated, fed and happy. Under cover marquee areas, chairs + tables are provided on a first come, first served basis. We recommend arriving early to secure a position for the day. There will be plenty of GA sections under the festival marquees providing shelter and warmth, plus plenty of wood fire pits and gas heaters scattered all over the venue.

Please book in any GA U17’s attending with you, so we can track numbers of all attendees.

Please note: Seating for GA tickets is not reserved. We will ensure there is ample furniture and lawn space available to host all ticket holders, however seating for GA tickets is first in best dressed.

Gates open from 10.00am: Food and beverages available to purchase at the venue. Strictly no BYO.

Please note: This is an all weather event, and will be held outside. We will provide lots of marquee shelter and heating to make our outdoor venue cozy and comfortable. We will not be issuing refunds on account of weather conditions, or because you can no longer attend* within 7 day of the event.
