2024 Howard Vineyard Block Q Sauvignon Blanc

SAUVIGNON BLANC:  A popular and unmistakable white wine that’s loved for its “green” herbal flavors and racy acidity.  When grown in cooler climates or picked early, the herbaceous green character is most prominent. In warmer climates or when allowed to hang longer on the vine, flavours develop of riper fruit ranging from grapefruit, to passion fruit and guava.  

The Adelaide Hills is the best place to grow Sauvignon Blanc due to high altitude vineyards. Sauvignon Blanc is most delicate and pretty when grown around 450m above sea level. In the Adelaide Hills, this means the cool nights lock in great natural acidity and the warm days give lovely slow ripening conditions, all making the fruit vibrant and fresh.

Vineyard:  Beautiful Valley Vineyard, Charleston, Block Q,  Elevation: 500 AMS, SW Top hill.  Optimum yields are approximately 7 tones per hectare.

Winemaking:  Picked in the early hours of the morning from our best block of Sauvignon Blanc and delivered quickly to the winery. Bag pressed, keeping only the free run juice. Cold fermented.
