2025 Howard Vineyard Amos Pinot Noir
The worlds most popular light-bodied red, Pinot Noir is traditionally well suited to cool climate wine regions, making Pinot Noir and the Adelaide Hills the perfect match.ย When enjoyed young, Pinot Noir tends to show characters of red fruits, cherries and cooked rhubarb. As the variety ages, it has the potential to show earthy, truffle and mushroom characters.ย This wine pairs well with food given the high natural acidity and gentle tannin. It is particularly well matched to duck, chicken, pork and mushrooms.

Winemaking;Grapes are handpicked and both clones were kept separate. The fruit was de-stemmed and chilled with minimal crushing into small open top fermenters. The must was allowed to macerate at low temperature for 5 days before warming. The ferment started slowly but was allowed to reach a peak temperature of 26 degrees before chilling. The wine was pressed from the skins prior to becoming dry to retain fresh fruit character and avoid extractive tannins. The wine finished fermentation in a stainless steel tank and was then racked in new French oak for malolactic fermentation. The wine was racked barrel to barrel and allowed to mature in our cool cellars for a further 9 months in total. Thirteen 400L puncheon French oak barrels were selected from over fifty six. Only the best barrels are then selected for our Amos wines. The wine was then bottled with minimal clarification and So2.
Bouquet; An alluring and vibrant nose, bursting with lifted aromas of wild strawberry, crunchy cranberry, and bright red cherry
Palate; A vintage of remarkable depth, the palate explodes with a concentrated core of ripe red fruits and vibrant spice. A structural tannin profile that generously coats the mouth with a velvety grip. The wine unfurls with layers of rich clove and vanilla before an intensely flavorful, candied fruit finish.
